Pecan Pie is a traditional American pie that is usually prepared on Holidays (American New Year’s Eve parties), especially at Thanksgiving and during the Christmas holidays.
Ingredients needed for the preparation of the Pecan Pie
Ingredients for the bottom mass.
300 g flour
150g of powdered sugar
150g of butter in pieces
1 pinch of salt
Ingredients for the stuffing
200g of pecan nuts (without salt)
175g of maple syrup or of corn syrup (corn syrup)
50g of butter
85g of brown sugar (brown sugar)
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Preparation of the Pecan Pie
To prepare the bottom dough, mix all the necessary ingredients until you get a smooth dough ball. Once ready, let it cool on a kitchen towel for an hour.
When this dough has settled, crush and flatten it with a rolling pin. Once flattened, roll the dough around the roll so that no cracks are made and place it in the mold where you are going to bake it. Then let it cool in the fridge while we prepare the filling of the Pecan Pie
Pre-heat the oven to 190 ° C.
Save between 25 and 30 pecan nuts and crush the rest
In a bowl or salad bowl, mix butter, sugar, eggs, maple syrup and vanilla extract. Once mixed add the crushed nuts.
Pour this mixture over the bottom dough (which will already be in the mold) and place the remaining nuts on the surface to give it an aesthetic and crunchy touch. You can even try to draw something with the arrangement of the nuts.
Now just put it in the oven for 35 minutes, keeping in mind that you have to coat it with kitchen paper the last 10 minutes. In this way it will not brown excessively.
