Features of Planet Venus
The planet Venus is the second planet of our solar system, it is a planet that has its dimensions very similar to those of the Earth, for what has been called the sister planet of the Earth.
The sign corresponding to Venus is the sign that is currently used to designate the female sex and its name corresponds directly to that of the goddess “Venus”, who was the goddess of love and fertility for the Romans, and from which they are detached some characteristics of venus, from the mythological point of view.
Main Characteristics of Venus:
Orbit.- The orbit of venus is considered almost perfect, because it is more circular than elliptical when turning on the sun.
Venusian year.– It has a duration of 243 Earth days (1.92 days of Venus) and it rotates in the opposite direction to the Earth (unlike the clock handles).
Day.- The day in Venus lasts 117 Earth days and the dawn appears on the opposite side to that which occurs on Earth. This planet has a phenomenon very similar to that of the moon, in which only the same face is seen from the planet earth; this in relation to his day and his turn on the sun star.
Cercanía.- The planet Venus is at an approximate distance of 108,200,000 km although in the year 1850, specifically on December 16 it was less than 40 million kilometers from Earth, a circumstance that will be repeated in the year 2101, when it will be at an approximate distance of 39.5 million kilometers.
Temperature.- The planet Venus has a temperature higher than that of mercury, this independently of the proximity, because the mixture and high concentration of gaces produces an effect called greenhouse that raises the temperature.
Atmosphere.– The atmosphere of the planet Venus is extremely dense and is composed mainly of carbon dioxide (95% approximately) and 3.5% or 4% of nitrogen, with the rest remaining in other gases, possibly containing oxygen in a small proportion. Its pressure is much higher than that of the earth.
Moons or satellites. Up to this moment, no star near the planet that can be considered as a satellite or moon has been detected.
Composition.– The planet Venus has a physical and chemical composition similar to that of the earth, and it is estimated that its center or interior is similar to that of planet Earth, where the nucleus is iron, with a layer or mantle of rock (probably basalt) in solid state and with extensive volcanic activity. They have observed a kind of continents (two plates or plateaus), one of the size of Oceania that contains a very large mountain called “Mount Maxwell”, which is approximately 1800 or 2000 meters larger than Everest. And another continent of greater size. The density of its atmosphere prevents its surface from being observed.
Surface.– It is estimated that the surface of the planet Venus is flat or plain although it has mountains such as those mentioned above.
Diameter.– 12.103.6 km (Approximately)
Mass.– 4,869 by 1024 kg (Approximately)
Temperature.- 460 ° C (Approximately)
